Bio
Dr. Rami Saydjari was born in Barron, Wisconsin, in 1960. He completed his undergraduate degree in biochemistry at Rice University in Houston.
After graduating from Rice, he moved to Galveston, Texas, where he attended medical school at the University of Texas Medical Branch (UTMB) to obtain his medical degree. While completing medical school, Rami developed a keen interest in biomedical research involving cancer suppression. He continued that interest in his general surgery residency at UTMB, which he completed in 1992.
He set up a successful private general surgery practice in Crawfordsville, Indiana, where he remained for over 20 years. During his surgical practice, he helped organize and participated in many medical relief missions to Haiti. Rami subsequently developed an interest in health care administration, serving on numerous boards and committees at local, regional, and national levels.
He decided to pursue a master's in business administration, which he completed at the University of Tennessee at Knoxville's Physician Executive MBA program (PEMBA) in 2011. His capstone thesis was on Accountable Care Organizations in a Rural Environment.
Rami was then appointed President of the Franciscan Physician Network for Western Indiana. He helped build and manage an extensive physician network dedicated to quality and transforming healthcare delivery in this capacity.
After retiring in 2013, Dr. Saydjari first moved back to Texas with his family and subsequently to New Hampshire, where he currently resides. He continues to be interested in research involving medicine, surgery, history, and cosmology, and cybersecurity among other domains. He is currently working as an author on an essay collection regarding his family and Middle East history, a book titled The Secrets of Navigating Modern Medicine and a paper on healthcare cybersecurity.
Dr. Saydjari is currently a Fellow at the Ronin Institute for Independent Scholarship 2.0.
